Eight Slask Supporters still under arrest – Göteborgs-Posten

Eight Slask Wroclaw supporters seated in custody after Thursday evening’s unrest.

Thursday’s match between IFK Gothenburg and Slask Wroclaw in the Europa League qualifiers marred by brawls and riots in several locations in central Gothenburg before and after the game.

33 Polish supporters were taken into custody by police after hooligan surges before the game. Then arrested 13 people who tried to escape from Gothenburg in their cars. Several of those arrested have now been arrested.

– Of the 13 supporters who were arrested yesterday as eight are arrested. They are suspected of violent resistance, or attempted violent resistance or violence and threats against the official. Exactly who is arrested for what is not yet known, said police spokesperson Ulla Brehm to GP on Friday.

On Friday morning received the Gothenburg District Court petition for the appointment of a public defender for the eight Poles. All are under the three different prosecutors involved in cases suspected of rioting.

Poles age varies greatly. The youngest is only 18 years old, the eldest is 36 years old. One of them is resident in Gdansk 50 mil from Wroclaw.

Two policemen were injured in the scuffle. A cop got hit in the neck and another police officer received a minor cut on his face after being given a bottle thrown against them.

– They have become välomhändertagna, and hopefully they will be back in service soon, says Ulla Brehm.

The arrest of the Polish supporters was preceded by a car chase at high speed.

– They could sit in their cars and then went north, we followed, circled them and were able to seize 13 who sat in the cars, says Christer Fuxborg, spokesperson of the police Western Region.

The police stopped the vehicle with football hooligans, both in Spekeröd, Ucklum and Backamo.

Nearly 500 Polish football fans reportedly traveled to Gothenburg for Thursday’s match. And the police reckoned that it could become disorderly – Polish football has in recent years had major problems with hooliganism and racism in the ranks of supporters.

Before the match had Polish hooligan police traveled to Gothenburg to help prevent trouble. And it got messy at several locations in Gothenburg on Thursday:

There were fights and bustle of the Avenue and the surrounding areas before the match between IFK Göteborg and

Slask Wroclaw. Just before half past three on Thursday afternoon broke a major altercation between Polish hooligans and ditto from Blåvitt on the Avenue. The pub John Scott’s suffered damage during hooligan quarrel, and during the operation accounted tram traffic on the avenue still.

– There was a fight between supporters of the two sides. It was thrown bottles, Bengalis, oil lamps and chairs, Marcus says Malm police inspector in Skaraborg.

At 18 o’clock had IFK supporters a marching Heden against the Ullevi Stadium and shortly thereafter began masked people running towards Ullevi.

– There were at least 200 guys who ran on the trail and several of them became nedsparkade says IFK supporter Tobias.

They cared Polish supporters were escorted back to their buses later Thursday morning while the detainees now remain at the police station in Sweden.

After the match tried some IFK supporters get to the parking lot, but countered away by police. Some stone throwing occurred, but no one reported to have been injured.
