Viasat has secured the NHL – and the new World Cup – Express

Viasat will continue to broadcast the NHL for another five years – has also secured the rights to the World Cup.

The group MTG announced in a press release.

– the World Cup is pure hockey magic. We are proud and very excited to show the very best teams and players gathered in hockeymeckat Toronto, says Viasat’s sports director Per Nunstedt.

MTG has owned the broadcasting rights to the NHL since 2009 – and now it is clear that the matches from the world’s best hockey league will continue to be broadcast by Viasat until 2021.

The agreement includes about 1300 NHL games, including the Stanley Cup playoffs.

– It is extremely good that we now secured the rights for so long as six years. It is by far the world’s best and most entertaining hockey league, says Viasat’s sports director Per Nunstedt in a press release.

– We look forward to continuing to offer the world’s best hockey to the Nordic countries, says David Correct, NHL s executive vice president of media distribution and strategy.

At the same time, it is now also clear that Viasat will also broadcast the World Cup – the tournament where all NHL players are available.

Teams from Canada USA, Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic and Finland will make up in Toronto in the tournament which starts September 17, 2016.

They also challenged by two blandlag – a European all starlag and a North American teams with players 23 years or

younger.
