Giants duel at Wimbledon – Helsingborgs Dagblad

When they met in the US Open final in 2007, Federer was incorruptible and won in straight sets. Last year, Djokovic emerged victorious after five grueling finalset at Wimbledon.

Federer has, together with Pete Sampras, won Wimbledon seven times, and will become the sole title of king of the hill if he wins an eighth time. Few believed that the Swiss would have the ability to challenge for yet another Grand Slam title. Soon 34 years, he is the elders who reached the final of the tournament since Ken Rosewall in 1974, who was then 39 years.

With 17 grand Slam titles Federer has three wins several of the four major tournaments than any other player.

After a very convincing semi-final victory over Andy Murray said Federer that he played his life of tennis. Despite the offensive game he only made eleven mistakes in the high-class game.

– I need to keep this level one more game to make this really two perfect weeks, he said.

– I simply have the ability to quickly learn how to act on the grass.

Djokovics statistics go , nor ass. He has won Wimbledon twice and has eight Grand Slam triumphs. And the Serb knows that Federer is the most difficult opponent to face in the Wimbledon grass. That Djokovic is five years younger is nothing he counts as an advantage in the final.

– This is where he loves to play. This is where he plays his best tennis. It is his path, he loves it, says Djokovic.

– Most often he raises in these matches. He is always best when it comes to the most. That is why he is a great champion. He is the greatest ever. There is not enough praise for what he does.
