Japanese champions champions even in the Gothia – Göteborgs-Posten

Japan’s best 16-year-olds, Tokyo Verdy, showed class in the P16-final against Hammarby. With short passes and quick feet as main weapon the team won comfortably 4-1.

The Gothia Cup has an agreement with the Japanese equivalent of the Olympics, the J-League. J-League sends every year their best 16-stroke of oars to Gothenburg. Tokyo Verdy was the country’s representative in the year, and the team did not do their homeland disappointed.
Despite several centimeters shorter than teams Hammarby brought the green-clad Japanese whole match. Then, when Torii Shun in the middle of the second half made the 4-1 on a post and got both ball and Stockholm residents goalie in net, the game was decided.
Cheered on by a single red Japanese sun in the stands got the Japanese champions celebrate also on Swedish soil.

Adrian Quintera was a prominent figure in the finals for boys 15. His CD Inter Vista Alegre won a dramatic penalty shootout against fransos are ACBB Paris after 1-1 at full time.

Saturday’s final game began with the match in the girls 14 between Brommapojkarna and German KFV Segeberg. Germans won comfortably 4-0 after including two goals by Anna Lena Trapp.

The second out to defend Sweden’s colors were angered FC. In the boys 14 class was man against US Dallas Texans. Guests from across the Atlantic impressed and emerged victorious. 3-0 was the final score.

Tölö If would then try to break the Gothenburg loss suite. IFK Vasteras girls 15 was the strongest and defeated Tölötjejerna 3-0.
