Johan Lindblom about the mission of the HV71 – Aftonbladet

A dream.

The call Johan Lindblom mission to train the HV71.

But he was not at the top of the club’s list.
– When I signed J20 contract last spring, was well not a team in mind, says Johan Lindblom.

The turbulence in the HV 71 is not over, but yesterday could Sportbladet reveal that the largest piece of the puzzle is in place. It will be Johan Lindblom – gold hero of 1995 – will be the new head coach.

This means that the 44-year-old takes a big step:
from Division 1 to the hot air in the SHL.

– I have not been very involved in the turmoil around the club. I have just followed it from the side. However, the club director and sports managers had more busy days and were embattled, says Johan Lindblom.
He continues:
– The Johan (Davidsson) and Johan (Hult) experienced in half a year, that’s probably what sports managers experience over ten years.

“not optimal”

In April, wrote Johan Lindblom on as coach of the club J20-law, but there were abrupt changes in the organization.

– Everything was going a little faster than I thought. When I signed J20 contract last spring, were well not the first team in mind.
Coaching staff around Jonkoping team is far from clear, although SHL opener against Skellefteå is seven weeks away. In the current situation HV71 no assistant coach.
– It is obviously not optimal and not what we want. But I am still comfortable in the sports managers’ jobs and hope it resolves itself soon.

Media – a major challenge

Johan Lindblom, the situation is completely different from what he is used with. For example, pressure from the media.
– I have not been at this level as a coach. Therefore, I think you have to be a little tougher. For example, I do not accustomed with you and your colleagues. It will probably be my greatest challenge, dealing with the media.
differences between Division 1 and SHL is obviously huge in the hockey world. But John Lindblom still see benefits.
– I feel quite comfortable with hockey, itself. One advantage compared to Division 1, it is that you do not have to do everything yourself. When we get clear with two assistant coaches, we become

a team. On the lower level you have not previously tight connections.
– In Division 1, you are really everything. Responsible as sporting director, trainer, materials issues. Everything. Now it will be nice to just focus on the players.

played in the Rangers

As a player was Johan Lindblom in the HV71 between 1994 and 2001, apart from one season to the New York Rangers where there were 38 matches.
– It’s a small dream to train the HV71, despite the fact that it is not my home club.

On Wednesday reassemble the whole squad and Johan Lindblom understand that a hard ahead of him. At the same time, he is very optimistic.
– I have followed SHL like hockey nerd, but now I have to put myself in everything. But our squad looks very exciting, with a good mix. Now we just have to get everything together.
