Bandy World Cup held in Sandviken, Sweden – Swedish Radio

Bandy World Championship 2017, held at Göransson Arena in Sandviken. It revealed the Swedish Bandy Federation chairman Stig Bertilsson today.

The reason that it was precisely Sandviken is simply that the option was the best. It says Stig Bertilsson, Swedish Bandy Federation president.

– It turned out rather quickly that the Göransson Arena was the very best and the best on the field. We brought quite early intensive discussions which we have discussed and passed the ball conditions. It has resulted in that we basically agree on a contract. It feels very good. We have great confidence that it will be a really nice Bandy World Championships. It is a national issue that put this area into focus, says Stig Bertilsson.

Are there any risks when to hold a World Cup like this?

– Yes, it does always. We have looked at Göransson’s calculations and it looks good and realistic out. Then there are always risks in any business but the potential for gain is much greater than the loss.

How will neighboring municipalities to get involved?

Yes, there will be those with security . People in the area will have to be up here. How stadium company to manage games, if you want to put out games, they have the right to manage themselves.

Even SAIK’s chairman Magnus Holst is happy about the decision.

– I look forward to 2017. I can see a lot of happy people for a week. We are creating an enormous camaraderie of both regional boundaries, city boundaries and international borders, says SAIK’s chairman Magnus Holst.

The last time Sweden arranged the World Cup, in 2013, was Vetlanda and Vanersborg host cities.

World Cup 2016 decided, as this year’s championship, in Russia.
