Palestinian Football Association has filed a motion to exclude Israel from FIFA. When the President Sepp Blatter opened the Congress in Zurich on Friday morning he was interrupted by Palestinian protesters.

In the shadow of the corruption scandal that shakes the world of football organization FIFA, takes place at Friday’s congressional vote in another controversial issue. Palestinian Football Association have pushed through a requirement for a vote to close the Israeli Football Association Community. The Palestinian Football Association accuses Israel to restrict Palestinian players and trainers the opportunity to play games. Furthermore, requires the Palestinian Football Association to five teams, all of which are residents of Israeli settlements, are

excluded from the Israeli league system. The five teams all in the lower divisions.

Try to mediation before the vote initiated by both President Sepp Blatter as delegates of FIFA. Sepp Blatter was last week on a visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories to open talks with both parties, writes The Guardian. A member of the Palestinian delegation told the newspaper that a compromise may be possible regarding the movement of Palestinian soccer players, but the Palestinian Football Association is not willing to compromise on the requirement that the law on settlements should be excluded from the league system.

Ahead of Friday’s poll is now discussed whether the corruption scandal that has shaken FIFA also can influence the outcome of the vote on the future of Israel. Sepp Blatter need votes to get re-elected, including from Latin American and Arab nations that previously showed support for the president. Rotem Katem, chairman of the Israeli Football Association, said, according to The Guardian, the Israeli website Walla, that the combination of corruption, scandal and Sepp Blatter will be reelected has complicated the situation.

– It is unclear how the votes will to be distributed when Blatter tries to get re-elected. There is no doubt that Blatter can be pressed, and this affair has just exploded. He needs the Arab votes and the result may be that Israel must be sacrificed, says Rotem Katem.

At Friday’s poll in Zurich will, according to Fifa, require that 75 percent of the delegates supports the Palestinian proposal for exclusion of Israel to be enforced. The vote in question is written as item 15 on the agenda. As item 17 on the agenda, delegates will determine the future of Sepp Blatter, when the vote on the presidency.
