NY Rangers to the semifinals after overtime drama – Swedish Radio

It took seven games to determine the regular quarterfinals series between Henrik Lundqvist New York Rangers and Nicklas Bäckström’s Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference.

In the night’s decisive match took Washington took the lead – by Alexander Ovechkin, assisted Nicklas Backstrom.

Early in the second period leveled the Rangers, in the power play of Kevin Hayes. The third period was speechless and the match had to be decided in the prolongation and sudden death.

NY Rangers must now face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the semifinals who is also the Eastern Conference finals. The first match played the night to Sunday Swedish time in Madison Square Garden.

In the other semifinal meet Anaheim and Chicago, and the first match between them is played late on Sunday evening Swedish time.
