Great confusion in the long jump finals – Aftonbladet

Zurich / Stockholm. There is great confusion in Erica Jarders long jump final at the European Championships.

German language Melanie Bauschkes hop on 6.79 is reported to be error measure and Sweden have protested.

– It may not happen, says TV4 expert Christian Olsson.

The Swede Erica Jarder, 28, jumps long jump final on Wednesday evening after his two jumps yesterday.

But the races are shaken by a potential scandal .

German language Melanie Bauschkes, in second place, made a jump of 6.79 but it should be error measure three inches – according Jarders coach Anders Moller.

– They’ll check it right now. It was around 6.50, says Möller.

Jarder lies in eighth place with 6.39 after five innings.

It is still not clear whether Bauschkes hope is approved.

Written protest at once

– It must be possible to go back and find, as far as I understand, they should have this kind of video measurements to look at, say TV4 expert Lennart Juhlin.

Serbian Ivana Spanovic leads at 6.81.

– It may not happen, it may not be a measurement that is so very wrong. It must be removed from the list of results. I do not know what the rules say there, but the 6.79 will not be allowed to remain. It takes the medal from the Romanian language (Alina Rotaru) in fourth place, says expert Christian Olsson.

national team press officer Fredrik Trahn confirms for Sport Bladet that a protest must be submitted in writing by the competition, but that it is currently only submitted a verbal protest to bandomaren.

The judges have measured the wrong foot in the landing, according Trahn.
