Rieks near success debut for Gothenburg – Swedish Dagbladet

It is possible to find players in the Dutch league as well.

The Dane Soren Rieks, was hårsmånen from a successful debut in IFK Gothenburg.

Rieks had to start on the bench in the Premier Division 1 1 meeting with Atvidaberg on Kopparvallen. Not surprising given that he arrived in Gothenburg until Tuesday morning.

But when he came in for Joel Allansson with over 20 minutes remaining proved Rieks teammates, to erect supporting control and coach Mikael Stahre that he’s a player that lifts the team. So when he was about to submit a segermål, too. Rieks drew with his right foot, but the hard ball over chose to graze Henrik Gustavsson’s rib.

– He has done well in Denmark and NEC (Nijmegen), says Stahre. He is toxic to their game, both with and without the ball. He can challenge, he can shoot.

– And so, he has some size too. He can nod and is quite direct in their play.

Playing Rieks from the start was not an issue. Stahre explains why:

– Should I be really honest, it was the first time I saw him. He has only been training a bit myself and eating food with the team. You have to have some respect towards the players. Not having done a single workout with the team did not feel good. He has written a treåskontrakt with IFK Göteborg and we have adequate replacements.

– No, it was not an issue, says Stahre.

Gothenburg match really hard right now. Just days after meeting with Rio Ave in qualifying for the Europa League awaited series leading Malmo FF away from home. Home Strong Atvidaberg was the third away game in a week. No wonder if the travel and match making was in substantial legs of the players on Kopparvallen.

It did not look good. Or, to put it bluntly: it was in disrepair. Not a finish on goal before the break.

Aatvidaberg game advantage was compact and gave numerous chances – but only Ricardo Santos delicious goal when he first chipped the ball over John Alvbåge and then headed the 1-0 paid off.

– Possibly our best half this season, said coach Peter Aatvidaberg Swärdh.

But the dividend was scant compared to gambit and no misses / Alvbåges saves cost. There was another IFK Gothenburg who came out to the second half.

The Shipment looked most like a matter of time.

Martin Smedberg-Dalence, invisible in the first, recorded against Lasse Vibe as released to Emil Salomonsson which in turn opened for the acknowledgment (59th) and Gustav Engvalls second premier league goal of the season.

Then hit Vibe post and Rieks introduced himself.

– In first saw it not good at all, in the second we got better order, energy and created pressure. We wanted three points but is humble for one. A fair result, says Stahre.
