Schelin pushed closer to the World Cup Sweden – Swedish Dagbladet

The 4-0 victory means that Sweden now top the group and has World Cup place entirely in their own hands.

Really should Lotta Schelin scored after just six minutes when she became largely free of the penalty area after a pass from Therese capital P.. That time, however, she missed nertagningen.

But two minutes later put it, after the Lyon striker yourself caught up the ball and ran through the Polish defenses.

More than 4 000 spectators strong crowd at Kazimierza Deyny Stadium in the small town Starogard Gdanski – named after the town bördige Polish football legend with the same name – wanted probably several reasons that Schelin barred again.

Partly because they obviously hoped the Polish victory, and partly to the entertainment value of the game went down significantly after the goal. Poland backed home, in their zeal to keep down the numbers, while Sweden, in their eagerness to get the numbers, beating out most adaptations in the attack.

Pia Sundhage chose to start with Olivia Schough next Lotta Schelin in the attack, while Kosovare Asllani relegated to the bench. “Kosse” got the chance, however, direct in the second half when Malin Diaz was replaced – and took it. Even after eleven minutes on the pitch nodded Asllani 2-0 to Sweden on a short post from Schelin and the match broke something.

Lotta Schelin scored since 3-0, and Linda Sembrant set the final score at 4 0 on a corner kick in the final minutes.

Sweden now leads the qualifying group with three points ahead of runner-up Scotland. This means that the road to the World Cup in Canada is completely open to the Swedes before the final two qualifying matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and just Scotland, played 13 and 17 September in Gothenburg. Group winner goes directly to the World Cup, while the runner up gets to play playoff.
