A couple of weeks for the World Cup fills Myhrer 36 years old and really had he wanted to quit after the Olympics by 2018.
– But it was great fun to Sweden got the World Cup again. And for me it will be a bit special to be involved in two World Cup at home.
He was already 2007 , last Åre had the World Cup. But none of slalom Swedes managed to position themselves on the Top 10 Myhrer finished 22th.
He has five World Cup victories, won the slalom Cup a season and an Olympic bronze medal from Vancouver. Sochi last winter, he came as doubtful starters after a crash at the camp for the Olympics. He stood up anyway, was second after the first run, but ran out in the second and was – like many others – fly over the darned Ante Kostelic mapped path.
– There were many emotions that came with at once. But that’s history now.
After the Olympics, he laid down the season . Have managed to get married and have been able to train well during the summer, where he also was looking for a new start.
– I changed the material after 13-14 years in the same ski brand. Now it’s Head, and it feels good. Got a confirmation that we are about to find right on our first camp on snow in early August.
Just like last season will the wife and daughter to go on quite a few trips in winter.
– It worked well last year.
But in the summer, he spent much of his parents’ home outside Bergsjövägen in Hälsningland. Or in the summer house closer to the ocean.
– It has been an amazing summer. Now I’m hoping for a nice winter where the World Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek is the highlight. It was in Beaver Creek, I won my first World Cup slalom so I have good feelings about the race of a hill that was perfect for me
